Emergency Vehicles Do Not Have To Stop on Red

Ambulance, fire engine and police cars are the most commonly seen public vehicles on the road. If they are responding to a situation, drivers can beat red light and even drive against the traffic.

Since emergency situations are often time sensitive, arriving at the scene minutes early can bring positive results to life and property.

Can I Buy an Ambulance to Avoid Traffic Jams?

This is a sensational idea. You are probably thinking “I want to get to work on time but sleep late, so if I buy an ambulance, I can use the lights and siren to beat the red lights and skip traffic jams! What a GREAT idea!”

The fact is, YES, this is possible. You can google up famous billionaires who now own emergency vehicles just to do this.

Let us share why buying an ambulance to beat red lights and skip traffic jams is possible and how you can do it too.

Step 1: Buying an ambulance

This is the easy part. First, you need cash or take out a loan to finance buying a van. Then go ahead to attach lights at the side, rear and on the roof. Print & paste the reverse “AMBULANCE” word on the front hood of the van. Get a speaker with the music audio of the siren needed for your new ambulance.

You can get parts off eBay and amazon. Make this your weekend project with your friends and (your husband’s) power tools.

Step 2: Getting license and registration

This is the hard part. The second step: you need to register with the Ministry of Health relevant to the place you stay to get it licensed.

Your fixtures will undergo physical inspection to ensure compliance and some form of certificate will be issued to authorise it.

Step 3: Ensuring your vehicle stays licensed

Next, your ambulance needs to be in compliance throughout a regular term. Since licensed are renewable yearly, plan a regular schedule.

Then, near audit day, get the interior cleaned and the exterior functional. And you’re good to go!

Alternative: Buy a used, second hand ambulance.

Too hard to buy your own ambulance? Too much work involved?

Then consider getting a pre-loved ambulance which already has the interior configured and the exterior lights installed. (It’s not the cleanest option though.)

Just renew the license.

Or if you don’t mind, you can just drive this ambulance around but you won’t be allowed to use the lights or siren. And definitely you can’t transport any patients.

And you’re off to travel on roads and beat lights (carefully & at your own risk) to your heart’s content. Please – have a good excuse if you happen to be in slippers and you get stopped by a patrol car though (:
