How Emergency Work Will Make You Change The Way You Drive On The Road

Triage & Phone Assessment

When a call for assistance is received, the operator makes a judgement call during the phone assessment. This determination allocates a priority level to the situation. High priority cases have an X value of 3 to 7 minutes whereas medium (8 to 15 minutes) and low (15 to 45 minutes).

Active Duty Emergency Vehicles

Activated concurrently, a combination of at least 2 of the following services will rush to scene: ambulance, police & fire.

A basic ambulance will be needed for simple cases. But for more challenging and complicated situations, an advanced team will be dispatched.

They may be deployed from different bases, thus the response time will vary. However, all the resources will need to reach within the stipulated time.

Changing The Way You Drive On Roads

Drivers on the overtaking lane have been known to be oblivious to their surroundings. Emergency vehicles try to fix that with their loud horns and eye watering lights. But some don’t see or hear.

3 steps and they still can’t do it?

  1. Keep your eyes open, be aware of surroundings
  2. Music in the car should be reasonable (not too loud)
  3. Take other lanes if you aren’t driving fast

Just wait till the day that they’re INSIDE the ambulance or if the fire truck is on the way to extinguish their BURNING house. Then they will regret.

Till then, hopefully this article has given you insight to why and how you can scram off the overtaking carriageway. Also, we have given you the general, background info on how emergency services work and on the categorising of cases. To less annoying drivers! Cheers!
